Grant Round 5 and 6 – Gladstone Foundation Grants

The Gladstone Foundation was established as a trust in February 2011. It manages voluntary contributions paid into
a trust by liquefied natural gas companies QGC Pty Limited, ConocoPhillips (Australia Pacific LNG) and Santos (Gladstone LNG). The Public Trustee of Queensland is the Trustee of the trust and has the ultimate responsibility for the investment and distribution of foundation funds.

The Foundation aims to ensure there is sufficient social infrastructure to meet the needs of the region’s growing population, enhance the liveability of Gladstone communities, and help build more stable workforces.

Grant Round 5
The Calliope Rural Fire Brigade was approved for $361,012.00 for a facility upgrade which was announced on 5 February 2018. The funding agreement has been executed by all parties and the project is underway.

The South End Progress Association Inc was approved for $500,000.00 on 5 April 2018 to construct a purpose-built community centre at South End, Curtis Island. The funding agreement has been executed by all parties and the project is underway.

Grant Round 6
On the 100-year anniversary of the end of WWI, the Boyne Tannum RSL Sub-Branch Inc in 2018 has been approved for $212,720.00 subject to a funding agreement being executed for an upgrade and renovations to the RSL Sub-Branch – Tannum Sands Community Hall.

The St Vincent de Paul Society has been approved for $500,000 subject to a funding agreement being executed for the redevelopment of the Warehouse and Family Support Centre. This funding coincides with a grant received from the Australian Government Department of Industry, Infrastructure and Regional Development, Gladstone Ports Corporation 2017 Botanic to Bridge community beneficiary and some contribution by themselves.
